Jannice Hooker won 1st Place in the Area Table Topics contest on Saturday, March 28, 2009.  Keith Fortman won 2nd place in the Area International Speech contest.  I wish them both well as they move forth in the contests.  Yay MJM!

 

Thanks to MJM Speakers’ Circle Members

Can I just say that I have the best Toastmaster group in Chicago – MJM Speakers’ Circle?  Ten members came out to support the Evaluation and Humorous Speech Contest on yesterday.  It was a rainy, dreary Saturday afternoon.  That’s much love.  I want to especially thank Sarah Crawley for her coaching and support.  It was great.

I placed 2nd in the evaluation contest (there were only 2 contestants).  However, I am going to continue to practice and try again next year.  That was fun.  I will be better prepared and better trained.

 

I Flopped Today

I had to evaluate one of our members on her speech during our Toastmasters Evaluation competition today.  I got nervous and messed up.  I don’t know why I got so nervous.  I am disappointed in myself because I KNOW I can do better.  I don’t know what happened.

So, I’m going to stop harking on how my evaluation went today, and work on preparing to go to the next level in the competition which is next Saturday, September 13, 2008 at West Pullman Library on 119th & Halsted.  Stop by and check me out.  I’m going to do great next week.
