LEED Council Launches Weatherization Skills – FREE

Anticipating phenomenal growth in the number of jobs “retro-fitting” homes to make them more energy-efficient, the LEED Council has recently launched an eight-week program called Weatherization Skills.
The first session starts Monday, September 28, with the last-chance orientation to be held on Thursday, September 24.
A few slots are still available, so prospective trainees should get in touch ASAP, by calling Angelic Phillips, our Client Services Coordinator, at 773-929-5552 ext 228.

The vocational skills component of the program combines classroom instruction in job-site math and measurement, workplace safety, “green” building design, and energy auditing with hands-on workshop-based training in air sealing, insulation, and heating and cooling systems. Other topics include the removal of hazardous materials, such as lead and asbestos.
The other components of the program are computer skills, job-readiness and financial education.
Graduates may take advantage of job-placement services.
