I would like to start adding video to my blog, and I’ve been speaking to someone who specializes in video production. I told him that I need a microphone for my camcorder. Everything I have read thus far said that if vidoes have good sound and good lighting, lack of clarity in the video may be forgiven. Anyway, I told the person what I knew, and he asked me, “What about the microphone on the camcorder?” Dude, if that mic worked well, why would I be looking for a new one?

What’s a Little Time?

I asked a young lady for the time on Friday and received the rudest and most ignorant response ever. Up to this point, I have always received the time when asked. However, I usually don’t ask the time because I always wear my watch.
So, here’s the situation. I asked the young lady for the time. She asked me, “Do you have a watch?” I responded no. In my mind, “I was thinking: If I had a watch, would I be asking?” Maybe some people do. She then asked me if I had a cell phone. I said yes. She told me to check it. Had I known this would have happened, I would not have bothered. But, like I said, this had never happened before.
She goes on to say, “Why should I use my energy to tell you the time.” All this time, I’m still in shock because the response was totally on the charts. Then she said that her father was coming out of her. And the moral of that story was: “Don’t ask me to do anything for you that you can do for yourself.” Huh??? It’s just time.
So, this tripped me out for several reasons. First, I’m the type of person that will do almost anything for anybody as long as it’s not taking away from a current project or taking too much of my time. Second, I normally do stuff for myself, so to have to ask anybody for anything is an inconvencience. Third, what the hell was that about?
A lot of people said that they would have snapped. You cannot snap on people for being who they are; well, you can, but it would be a total waste of time and energy. However, this incident gave me an insight to who this person really is, and I know how to better deal with her. In essence, I won’t. So, for me, that was probably the best lesson I received about time.

It’s OK to Be Quiet
Posted by Shorty under Did they say that??? | Tags: From Shorty, silence |Leave a Comment
I went to my friend’s husband party with a guy I was seeing. He fixed his mouth to tell my friend that she was sexy. And now he’s acting like he didn’t say anything wrong. He said, “I was just making an observation.” What he said was wrong on ALL levels.
First of all, he disregarded my entire presence. Totally disrespectful. I was at the party with him, but my girl was sexy. Second, she’s my friend. There are certain boundaries that should not be crossed to me. Friends and family are off limits in all situations! Unless you’re on Jerry Springer. We don’t get down like that. Third, even if he thought my girl was sexy, a different adjective could have been used like attractive or cute. She is. But still, it was OK to just be quiet. He said that he would not had made the comment in front of her husband. So, why would he think it was OK to say that stupid **** in front of me???

From the Mouth of a Fool – His Flesh Rules the Relationship

Silence is golden
I was “blessed” to be in the presence of the most interesting male specie recently, and I had to share this story with the world. I need you to start feeling the sarcasm here.
This “educated” accountant said that any woman he dates cannot have male friends because she would not want him to have female friends. The reason she would not want him to have female friends is because he is most liking going to sleep with them. So, this woman would have to give up her male friends who may be true friends in every sense of the word because of this dude’s insecurities which stems from his hormones?? Beautiful!
As I sat there listening to this guy, several thoughts occurred to me:
1. This dude is serious. His relationship with the opposite sex is based on the fact he can’t control HIS flesh.
2. There are some women in this world who are willing to go along with this hormone.
3. I know men have certain thoughts because they are men, and the same goes for women. But I think men and women can just be friends. However, everyone has their own definition of “friend” as it relates to the opposite sex.
4. He sounds like an ass!
5. How do I get so lucky to find these people?
Unfortunately, there are more people – male and female – with the same thoughts as this guy. I just hope they stop by and leave comments to boost my blog rating. In the meantime, if you have good stories of people saying dumb stuff, feel free to share.
I think my girl, Tasha, is going to start a blog about dumb staff that people say. When it is up and running, I will let you know.
