All you have to do is got to http://www.thebreastcancersite.com/ and click daily.  You will be blessed by blessing others.

All of my dance lessons are preparing me for my spot on Dancing with the Stars.  By the time I reach star status as a writer (yes, I will be there reeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaal soon), I will be the winner for the season.

I really love dancing.  I didn’t know how much I truly enjoyed it until recently.  However, I do recall wanting to be a dancer when I was younger.  I think break dancing was the “thing” at that time. There weren’t any classes for breakin’, and if there were, my mother wouldn’t have allowed me to take them anyway (she saw the people spinning on their heads).

Anyway, I have found ways to live my dream of dancing outside of watching Dancing with the Stars.  I attend Ms. Loretta’s Line Dancing class every Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m. at Mr. G’s on 87th & Ashland.  I get a taste of Latin dance through my Core Rhythms exercise video (it’s so sensual), and I get a feel of hip through Hip Hop Abs videos (Shaun T is entertaining).  Also, my friend Tracey teaches Salsa, Merengue and Bachata on Friday evenings at the Newberry Center located at 1073 W. Maxwell Street by UIC.  I only went once but I intend to be a regular soon.

In the past, I took a beginning Latin Dance class with Leroy Tyree at Daley College.  I had a South side Stepping lesson with Ms. Cynthia at Kennedy College at the old location and a West side Stepping lesson at Malcolm X College.  Did I mention I took a Belly Dance class at Daley College?  And how can I forget my Modern Jazz with Ms. Mya in the late summer at the new Kennedy King location.

Even wtih all of the dancing and lessons, do you know I still have bad posture?  I didn’t know how bad it was until I started skating the circle at the rink.  Know what that means?  I now have to find a Ballet class for adults.  That should be real interesting.

I am a channel-flipper when I listen to the radio, and can honestly say that I do not appreciate the many of the words used by younger artists.  Heck, I do not appreciate their music.  The only reason why I listen to some of the crap I hear is because it tends to grow on me because it is played on sooooooooooooooo many stations.

During my struggle with the new music, I find that I am appreciating old songs that I didn’t like before.  For instance, I used to dislike Somebody’s Sleeping in My Bed by Dru Hill.  However, I am loving that song compared to Lil Weezy and all these other people with names I can’t name and words I cannot pronounce.

Quote of the Day
“Living well and beautifully and justly are all one thing.”

Sexy Pumpkin

Sexy Pumpkin

My little sister, Tamia, made this pumpkin.  I have to say that this is the sexiest pumpkin I have ever seen in my life.  Look at the lashes on this babe!

If the prefix for the number 8 is “oct,” why is October the 10th month instead of 8th?
